Smarter rewards, zero guesswork

Our engine doesn't just compare flat rates. It tracks annual caps, models point valuations, and dynamically reallocates your spend.

CAP ENGINE

Cap-Aware Optimization

Many premium cards cap their best multipliers. Our algorithm monitors your yearly spend and shifts purchases to the next-best card the moment a cap is hit.

"I spend $600 at Costco and $300 at Sobeys every month. What is my best strategy?"
Max (WalletFit AI)

At Sobeys: Use the American Express Cobalt (5x points) for an estimated 10.0% return (~$30/mo in travel value).

At Costco: Since Costco only accepts Mastercard in-warehouse, use the Rogers Red World Elite (2% flat cash back everywhere).

• 💡 Pro Hack: Buy Mastercard prepaid gift cards at Sobeys using your Cobalt card (5x points), then spend those cards at Costco to earn up to 8.5% net value on your Costco shopping!

FAQ

Common questions

How do I choose between travel points and cash back?
Travel points (like Aeroplan or AMEX Membership Rewards) generally offer higher maximum value when redeemed for flights or hotels, often yielding 1.5 to 2.0+ cents per point. Cash back is simpler, offering a guaranteed 1:1 dollar value but with lower upside. If you travel at least once a year, points usually win; otherwise, cash back is the safer bet.
What is the best credit card for groceries in Canada?
For stores that accept American Express (Sobeys, Safeway, Metro, local grocers), the AMEX Cobalt leads with 5x points per dollar. For stores that don't accept AMEX (Loblaws, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills), Visa or Mastercard options like the CIBC Dividend Visa Infinite (4% cash back) or the PC Financial World Elite Mastercard are excellent alternatives.
How does Plaid secure my banking details?
Plaid is a SOC2-compliant network that connects your bank accounts without sharing your credentials. You log in directly through Plaid's secure overlay. Wallet Fit only receives a read-only token to retrieve transactions and card names — we never see or store your passwords.
Is Wallet Fit free to use?
Yes. The core optimizer — adding cards, entering expenses, and receiving card recommendations — is completely free. We offer an optional Pro tier for advanced features like unlimited bank connections, extended spending history, and CSV exports.
What Canadian cards does Wallet Fit support?
We maintain a database of 50+ cards from major Canadian issuers including AMEX, CIBC, RBC, Scotiabank, TD, BMO, Capital One, Rogers, Tangerine, Neo Financial, PC Financial, and more. Each card is modeled with its full reward structure, category multipliers, caps, and annual fees.
Do your card recommendations favour cards you earn commissions on?
No. Recommendations are ranked purely by the net rewards your specific spend profile earns with each card. Cards with no affiliate relationship appear in results exactly like any other card — the math doesn't change based on whether we earn a commission. We disclose on our Disclaimer page which card links carry referral fees so you can verify this yourself.
How often is the card database updated?
We update card rates, caps, and annual fees when issuers announce changes. Each card's detail view shows the date its data was last verified. If you spot an error, email support@walletfit.app and we'll correct it within 48 hours.

Who this is not for

Wallet Fit is built for Canadian cardholders who carry multiple rewards cards and want to know which one to use at each merchant. If you use a single card for everything, or you're based outside Canada, the optimizer won't give you much signal. We cover Canadian-issued cards only — US cards like Chase Sapphire or Citi Double Cash are not in our database.

Founder Trust & Neutrality Promise

"We built Wallet Fit because US-first reward apps didn't understand Canadian credit card category caps, Aeroplan, or Scene+. Our recommendation algorithm is 100% mathematically neutral: cards are ranked purely by net dollar return for your budget, with zero sponsored placement or affiliate bias."
